SOCKS
Men's Socks by Fox – MX, MTB and Everyday Crew Socks
The socks section is part of the men's clothing range at Foxracing.si and brings together Fox socks for riding and for everyday wear. It covers tall, thin socks worn under motocross boots, crew-height socks for mountain biking and simple logo socks for casual use, so you can match the sock to the boot, shoe or discipline you ride in.
What this category covers
- Motocross socks – knee-length or longer, deliberately thin and smooth so they sit flat inside a stiff MX boot and protect the shin and calf from rubbing.
- MTB and trail socks – usually crew height (roughly 15–20 cm / 6"–8" cuffs) to keep grit out of low shoes and to add a layer between your calf and a knee pad.
- Short and ankle socks – low-cut pairs for gym, skate shoes and warm-weather riding.
- Lifestyle crew socks – ribbed everyday socks with branded cuffs, often sold in multi-packs.

How to choose riding socks
- Height first. With motocross or enduro boots, the sock must finish above the top of the boot cuff – anything shorter will roll down and cause blisters. For flat-pedal shoes, a crew height is enough.
- Thickness. Thin, flat-knit socks preserve the fit of a snug boot and improve feel on the footpeg; thicker terry-cushioned socks add comfort for long trail days and cooler rides.
- Material. Synthetic blends (polyester, polyamide, elastane, Coolmax-type yarns) move sweat away and dry fast. Cotton feels soft but holds moisture and is better suited to casual wear than to hard riding.
- Fit and support. Look for an elastic arch band, a shaped heel and a ribbed cuff that stays up. Left/right-specific or anatomically knitted socks reduce wrinkles under the foot.
- Sizing. Socks are sold in ranges such as S/M and L/XL; choose by your shoe size and size up rather than down, because a stretched sock loses cushioning and slips at the heel.
- Season. Thin, breathable knits for summer; taller, denser socks for cold and muddy months, ideally worn with a windproof shoe cover or boot.
Brand
Every pair here is made by Fox, a brand built around motocross and mountain biking, so the socks follow the same logic as the rest of its kit: moto socks cut long and thin for boots, bike socks cut at crew height with breathable panels, and casual socks with recognisable branded cuffs.
Frequently asked questions
How long should motocross socks be?
They should reach above the top of your boot, which in practice means knee-length or higher. That way the boot cuff never touches bare skin and the sock cannot slide down inside the boot while you ride.
Can I wear normal sports socks under MX boots?
You can, but thick cotton gym socks bunch up, hold sweat and stop below the boot cuff, which is exactly what causes hot spots and blisters. Purpose-made moto socks are thinner, taller and flat-seamed.
What sock height works best for mountain biking?
A crew sock with a 15–20 cm cuff is the most popular choice: it keeps dirt out of low-cut shoes, sits comfortably under knee pads and still allows air to move.
Which size should I order?
Pick the size range that matches your shoe size. If you fall between two sizes, take the larger one so the cuff and arch band do not over-stretch.
How should riding socks be washed?
Wash them inside out at a low temperature with similar colours, skip fabric softener, which coats the fibres and reduces wicking, and let them air dry to protect the elastane.
